Remembrance Sunday - where and when to see military parade to honour fallen heroes in Shrewsbury

Salopians will come together to remember the nation’s war heroes next Sunday after plans for the annual Remembrance Parade were confirmed.

Shrewsbury Town Council has announced where and when to see the military parade in the town next weekend so people can pay their respects.

A spokesman said: “Parade will depart from Shrewsbury Castle at 10.30am along Castle Gates; Castle Street; Pride Hill; Shoplatch; St John's Hill and St Chad's Terrace.

“Short Service at the War Memorial (in the Quarry) starting at 10.50am which will include two minutes of silence and wreath laying.

“The event will finish with a march along St Chad's Terrace.”

Remembrance Sunday is held in the United Kingdom as a day to commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts. 

It is held on the second Sunday in November.
