The Much Wenlock plan was adopted as the basis for housing and employment growth and is now embarking on a review.
The Plan covers a range of topics: Housing mix, Flooding, Design and heritage, tackling climate change, transport and getting around, supporting the local economy, the environment and biodiversity, and community facilities.
Following a successful community launch event in March, The Town Council’s Steering Group has updated the Neighbourhood Plan to reflect the Much Wenlock community’s aspirations, and the latest planning regulations.
The plan will go out to formal consultation with effect from November 11 and a drop-in meeting is being held to showcase the draft Plan.
The informal meeting is planned for Saturday November 9 from 10am until 4pm at Priory Hall in the Bull Ring. It will provide an opportunity for local residents and traders to meet the Steering Group and to hear an update on progress, and to ask questions.
Mayor and Town Council chairman, Marcus Themans said “The Steering Group has made excellent progress, and Much Wenlock Town Council is keen to ensure local people know what’s happening and can help influence the outcome.
“In addition to viewing the information boards and discussing the Review with Steering Group members, there will be a short presentation at 11am, repeated at 12:30pm and at 2pm.”
Much Wenlock’s Shropshire Councillor and chairman of the Steering Group, Dan Thomas added: “This event is timed to coincide with the start of the formal consultation so that aspects in which they have a strong interest are fresh in their minds. We look forward to a good turn out for what should be a sociable event - free tea, coffee and biscuits will be available”.
