Andrew Pearce, aged 49, took cannabis before picking up the boy from school and then crashing into the back of a BMW on the A442 in Telford.

Pearce’s partner suffered a broken wrist as a result of the crash.

Telford Magistrates Court heard how police were called to a traffic collision at 4.30pm on July 1 this year between Pearce’s Volkswagen Fox and the BMW.

Pearce, his partner and stepson were all standing at the roadside when police arrived on the scene. The airbags had gone off in the Volkswagen.
