Carpenter banned from the road after taking cannabis before going to work in Oswestry

A motorist who was caught under the influence of drugs is facing up to losing work.

Russell Woolley, aged 41, was stopped in is Volkswagen Caddy van in College Road, Oswestry on May 1 this year.

Telford Magistrates Court was told that police carried out a roadside drugs test which proved positive and Woolley was arrested.

In custody he gave a reading of 2.7 micrograms of Delta 9 THC - the main psychoactive ingredient in cannabis - per litre of blood. The legal limit, taking into account the possibility of accidental exposure, is 2mcg.
