Air ambulance called and road closed for several hours after crash in village near Welsh border

A crash in a village near the Welsh border closed a road for several hours on Friday evening.

The air ambulance was scrambled to the scene of a crash in the village of St Martins near Oswestry on Friday night.

Overton Road near to the Len's Plaice fish and chips shop was closed for several hours after the incident. 

At around 9pm, a spokesperson from Oswestry's local policing team said: "RTC Overton Rd, St Martins near to Lens Plaice. The road will be closed for some time. Ambulance, air ambulance and police on scene."

At just after midnight, the road was reopened.

West Mercia Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service have been approached for more details.
