West Mercia Police Safer Neighbourhood Officer for Hadley and Leegomery, Robert Hughes posted on the force's Neighbourhood Matters page reporting the thefts.

The officer said a silver Mercedes X350 pick-up was stolen in Hadley on Saturday, following the theft of a grey Land Rover Discovery from a driveway in Apley last Thursday.

PC Hughes supplied a list of measures that car and vehicle owners can take to prevent theft

The post said: "We have had two vehicles stolen in Hadley and Leegomery over the last few days, if you own a keyless entry vehicle then please consider options to prevent theft .

"Things you can consider are a Faraday case, steering lock or fitting a tracker.

"Sometimes thieves will abandon the vehicles in a side street to see if a tracker is fitted, if you have seen any of these vehicles turn up in the early hours please let us know."
