The glasshouse has been lovingly restored and relocated to a new home piece by piece by Shrewsbury Men's Shed over several months.
It has even been donated the group by the town's council and will be used by them.
It was officially re-opened by Margaret Thrower at the West Mids Showground before a big group of invited guests and local sponsors.
The gardening section of the Men’s Shed is looking forward to getting their green fingers grubby with growing inside the new glasshouse.
A spokesperson for the group said that Percy Thrower would be rightly proud of his legacy.
Mr Thrower became a household name as a pioneer of TV gardener.
As Shrewsbury's parks superintendent, he shaped Shropshire's county town beautifully, and colourfully.
When the press referred to him, they called him things like "Britain's Mr Gardening" or "Britain's Head Gardener."
Among the invited attendees were representatives of the Living With and Beyond Cancer Programme.
A spokesperson for the organisation said: “We were invited to the Long anticipated opening of the historical Percy Thrower Greenhouse.
“It has been lovingly restored by Shrewsbury Men’s Shed who support cancer services greatly by allowing us to provide a safe space for our monthly Men Like Us Group and hosting our popular Horticultural Therapy Course which is Kindly Funded by Lingen Davies Cancer Fund and delivered by Bloomin’ Lovely.
“We are really proud of the relationships we have within our local community who are all striving for the same goal, to support those Living With and Beyond Cancer.”
Also present were sponsors Shropshire Design & Build, Shrewsbury Town Council, Paveaways Building Contractors.
It has also been sponsored by Wildes Plant Hire, Matrix and Shropshire Min-Mix.
