Transport for Wales says no trains between Wolverhampton and Birmingham for seven days - starting tomorrow
A major train firm has announced none of its trains will run between Wolverhampton and Birmingham for a week.
Transport for Wales announced on Friday that a "fleet shortage" has affected its ability to run trains between Shrewsbury and Birmingham from tomorrow (Saturday) to next Friday.
A statement said: "All Transport for Wales services between Shrewsbury and Birmingham International will now terminate at Wolverhampton from Saturday, November 16 until at least Friday, November 22.
"Customers should check with rail staff and use the next available service for onward journeys. This is due to a fleet shortage owing to a number of trains undergoing heavy maintenance exams and autumn-related repairs.
"We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused and we are working hard to minimise disruption to customers.
"Please check before you travel."
The company said that passengers for Birmingham New Street and Birmingham International can use their tickets at no extra cost on West Midlands Railway, CrossCountry and Avanti West Coast services.
