After months of consultation, Market Drayton Town Council has decided on a proposed renovation plan for the Towers Lawn public toilet facility and submitted these to Shropshire Council.

The proposed new layout will see a total of five new "vandal-proof" cubicles installed with baby changing facilities in the men’s, ladies and disabled toilets. Renovation will also see a space created for a future use to be determined.

A town councillor has revealed that a number of issues have led to the decision being taken by the town council.

As well as the existing facility being quite dated, chair of the services & facilities department, Tim Manton said the public toilets have been subjected to large levels of vandalism during the past few years.
