David Gaunt, 81, and his partner Patricia Morris, 80, were preparing to go out on Sunday morning when “all hell broke loose” as the high-powered car smashed into their house in Ketley, Telford and ended up in their front room.

“If we do get that we will have somewhere to go,” said Mr Gaunt.

“But we have no furniture or clothes because we have not been allowed back into the house. It is unsafe.

“We have only got the clothes that we stand up in and haven't got the money to go out spending.”
