Firefighters called to steep road in Telford after vehicle flips and comes to rest on roof

Firefighters were called a steep road in Ironbridge after a vehicle came to a rest on its roof.

The Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 6.33am today (Wednesday) reporting the incident on Lincoln Hill in Ironbridge

Two fire crews were sent from Telford Central Fire Station to the scene. 

Land ambulance crews and West Mercia Police also attended the incident, which involved one vehicle that had come to a rest on its roof. Police closed the road after the crash.

Fire crews discovered there to be nobody trapped in the vehicle and assisted police and ambulance staff.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of an overturned car at the junction of Lincoln Hill and Severn Terrace, Ironbridge, Telford at 6.18am this morning. 

"An ambulance attended and assessed the car driver, a man, who declined further hospital treatment. He was discharged on scene."

The incident concluded at 7.34am.
