Former Song for Wales winner will star at Builth Wells St David's Day concert
Builth Male Voice Choir have been very fortunate in securing Sara Davies from Llandysul as their solo artist for their 2025 St David’s Day Concert on March 1.
As a singer-songwriter Sara recently won the prestigious Song For Wales competition and is working on a soon to be released album.
At the 2015 Urdd Eisteddfod, Sara won the women’s solo as well as coming second in the musical solo, and was very fortunate to win the Olwen Phillips scholarship.
As an enthusiastic member of the Urdd for many years, being a member of the choir Aelwyd y Waun Ddyfal has allowed her to continue with the choral competition.
She led the choir and the experience has been valuable.
In 2017 Sara was second in the mezzo-soprano solo competition at the National Eisteddfod and in 2019 (Llanrwst) and 2022 (Tregaron) she won the Soprano competition and went on to compete in the Blue Riband competition. She enjoys any opportunity to perform in concerts.
In 2018 Sara graduated from Cardiff University with a first class in music.
During her study period there, Sara received a scholarship from the university as well as a David Lloyd scholarship from the Music School to help with her vocal lessons.
Sara has also been a scholar student for the BBC choir and has had many brilliant experiences performing in various concerts in Wales as well as an unforgettable trip to Abu Dhabi as part of a chorus for a Bryn Terfel concert.
In 2019 she graduated in a PGCE course in education. Since then Sara has been pursuing a job as a Music teacher at Henry Richard school in Tregaron as well as her music career.
The concert will be at Builth Sports Centre on March 1 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are not available yet.
