Early hours shed fire spreads to house in Telford

A shed went up in flames and the fire spread to a house in Telford in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters were called out to an unoccupied house in Waverley, Woodside, Telford at around 1.05am.

The blaze spread to the ground floor of the house and is understood to have affected a small part of the property.

Paramedics were not required and fire crews spent around 45 minutes on the scene.

A Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "At 1.05am on Saturday, November 23, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as 'house fire'.

"Crews used four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one covering jet, and two thermal imaging cameras to extinguish the fire.

Two fire engines were sent to the scene from Telford and an operations officer was also in attendance.
