The guest speaker was Colin Newman of Llandovery who was accompanied by David Worthington.

Colin spoke about his four recent visits to the war-torn eastern European country of Ukraine and described the long and difficult journey firstly by ferry to the Hook of Holland then driving through Holland, Germany, Poland and eventually arriving at the city of Kiev in Ukraine, having often been faced with most difficult weather conditions.

Thanks to the generosity of the public, Colin explained how they were able to take with them supplies of medicines, clothing, toys, water filters etc which would be distributed to hospitals, children’s orphanages etc all of which would be most welcome by the recipients.

Peri Emirali thanked Colin for a most interesting talk and wished him well for his next visit to Ukraine.

The raffle prize was won by Edna James.

Thursday Club meetings are held at the Drovers Rest, Llanwrtyd at 2pm on the first and third Thursdays each month.

New members always welcome.
