West Midlands Railway reported that the line was back open "with speed restrictions" by 11am but delays were still expected.

National Rail had warned passengers that there was a chance of flooding due to the "predicted heavy rain and rapid thaw of the snow".

Due to the impact of Storm Bert, Transport for Wales services between Shrewsbury and Swansea via the Heart of Wales service were also not running.
