Liam Darlington, aged 22, was driving a Ford Fiesta on the A5 at Montford Bridge, near Shrewsbury, on June 5 this year.

A test found he had three micrograms of Delta 9 THC - the main psychoactive ingredient in cannabis - per litre of blood in his system. The legal limit, taking into account the possibility for accidental exposure, is 2mcg.

Darlington, of Twympath Lane, Gobowen, pleaded guilty at Telford Magistrates Court to driving with a controlled drug above the specified limit.
