Telford primary school praised by Ofsted - but headteacher hopes watchdog's 'negative cultures' can become a thing of past

The headteacher of a Telford primary school says he is "delighted" with the latest glowing Ofsted report, but has welcomed reforms to the education watchdog's system so that "negative cultures" can become a thing of the past.

Headteacher at Grange Park Primary School, Richard Thorpe was pleased to see that inspectors were impressed with what they saw during their visit in October, however, is hoping that changes to the system will address "the many issues".

Ofsted inspectors said that pupils "thrive" at the "warm and welcoming school". Leaders at Grange Park and within the Community Academies Trust were also praised for their determination to ensure that each pupil succeeds.

Meanwhile, the Telford primary school's curriculum is said to develop pupils’ "intellectual curiosity and enhances their character". 

Inspectors reported that the school's 'behaviour and attitudes', 'personal development', 'leadership and management', and 'early years provision' are all 'Outstanding'. The school's 'quality of education' was also marked as "Good".

Headteacher Mr Thorpe said: "We are delighted with our report, which really gets to the heart of what Grange Park is all about, including our amazing children and staff. I would also like to acknowledge the excellent support we receive from the Community Academies Trust too.
