Police catch 23 motorists speeding and report six drivers during speed checks across Shropshire
Police caught 23 motorists exceeding the speed limit across various locations in Shropshire during speed checks today.

West Mercia Police officers stopped and spoke to drivers, and reported six motorists for speeding offences.
Member of Wem Safer Neighbourhood team, PC Jack Harper posted on the Neighbourhood Matters page on reporting the operation.
Officers conducted the speed checks in Wem, Harmer Hill, Hadnall and Shawbury.
The post said: "During this time we detected 23 motorists going above the posted speed limit. A number of people were stopped and spoken to with six reported for their speeding offences.
"Speeding can have a devastating impact on the safety of road users, increasing the risk of a collision and the severity of the consequences. If prosecuted for speeding, the minimum penalty is a £100 fine and 3 penalty points.
"Enforcing the speed limit is a 24/7 activity for us. If you have concerns about speeding in you area please contact your local SNT so we can work together to help make the roads safer."
