The B5026 in Woore, near Market Drayton, is set to close for work to install fibre broadband.
The proposed road closure is for night-time working between the hours of 10pm and 6am, but may also be in force throughout the day.
The closure will be in place from Irelands Cross to Dorrington from December 8 to December 13.
A spokesperson for Woore Parish Council said it is working with Shropshire Council's Streetworks Team to "avoid as much inconvenience as possible".
They added: "We are also ensuring that any road closure required during daytime hours will maintain access for school transportation".
During the closure, an eight-mile diversion will be in place, directing traffic via the A51, Willoughbridge Lane and B4026.
