Teachers and staff at Coleham Primary School in Shrewsbury have filmed their special Christmas video this week, for release later in December.
The school came up with the idea of creating a music video in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic to "lift everyone’s spirits" and so children could feel connected to staff at Christmas time.
The video is secretly filmed each year by staff at lunchtime, and even they have no sight of the final cut until it is released in a premiere viewing to children.
Their first year’s video 'Merry Christmas Everyone' was popular amongst pupils, staff, parents and wider Shropshire residents and has been watched more than 15,000 times.
Celebrating the school's fifth Christmas music video this year, Coleham Primary School has decided to work with the Shrewsbury Food Hub for their Friday Night Dinner project. It will see a group of children make dinner for 50 guests using surplus food, saving it from landfill.
Tracy Othen from Coleham Primary School said: "The video is our gift to the children and community each year and also a great way to have some fun in school.
"Staff wellbeing is so important and making the video lifts everyone up, and then watching and sharing it gives us another boost. It's such a wonderful feeling to create something special."
