Environment Agency Midlands area director Marc Lidderth has posted on the social media channel X from Ironbridge to update residents and give a safety warning.

Mr Lidderth said: “We will see water levels continue to rise here up into this evening, overnight and through to tomorrow morning.

“That peak of water then making its way further down the Severn catchment over the course of the next few days.”

He also reminded people to stay up to date with flood alerts and not to drive through flood water.
