Powys Teaching Health Board wants to change an office at Westdene Blocks on Temple Street into medical staff accommodation comprising of four beds as a single household.

They said the application would also include the replacement of some windows and the conversion of some rear doors to windows.

The office measures 246 square metres and the health board said timber windows will be put in place.

Llandrindod Wells Town Council considered the plans at a recent meeting.

Councillor Jamie Jones said: “I think originally it was in residential use and it was converted to an office so I can’t see why there would be any objections to it really.”

Members agreed to recommend approval of the plan

Powys County Council will make the final decision by January 2 2025.

Meanwhile, plans to erect decking on an existing patio at Brynteg, Cefnllys Lane were also considered

Applicant Mr David Street said he wanted to construct a 10.8m x 3.7m deck on an existing patio area and extending 1.3m over a slope.

In the application he said the deck frame is aluminium joists supported primarily by existing patio and 152x152x23 UC on 10 ground screws. Handrails would be 1.1m.

He said the work had started in August 2023 but was had not been completed.

Councillor Jones said: “I would have absolutely no reason to object to someone putting decking in their garden.”

Councillors recommended approval of the plan

Powys County Council will make a final decision.
