Police seize car and speak to several drivers in Oswestry

Police have seized a vehicle in Oswestry during a crackdown on road crime.

West Mercia Police PC in Oswestry, George Watling, posted on the force's Neighbourhood Matters page reporting the incident.

Officers seized a vehicle last Friday after it was found to have no valid insurance. The driver was reported.

The post said that police were out in the border town last weekend ensuring that residents were safe and enjoying the festive period, including vehicle users.

Several vehicles were stopped and drivers were spoken to.

The post said: "The town centre team have been out over the weekend ensuring that everyone is safe and enjoying the festive period. This also includes people using vehicles on our roads. Several vehicles have been stopped and drivers spoken to. 

"It is the responsibility of everyone who drives on our roads to check their vehicle is road worthy and ensure they have the correct tax/insurance."
