Reverend Suzan Williams was installed as priest in charge at St Mary Magdalene in Bridgnorth on Monday, December 9.

Suzan was formerly an active member of the congregation at St Mary's in Highley before being ordained in 2011 as curate and then priest in Church Stretton

She subsequently served from 2016 as team vicar in the Wrockwardine Deanery and was appointed as rector at Whittington in north Shropshire.

The Bridgnorth and Morville Benefice comprises nine parishes and has been without a priest since September 2022 when the rector the Reverend Simon Cawdell and his wife, the Reverend Sarah Cawdell left to take up church appointments in Uganda

St Mary's churchwarden David Oxtoby said: “We are so happy to have Suzan, with her local knowledge and understanding of the challenges of rural ministry, come to take us to the next phase in the life of our church.”
