Crowds of cheering people were delighted to witness the spectacular tractor run on Saturday, as 54 tractors and other vehicles took part toured local villages and towns.

The organisers were overwhelmed by the numbers who took part, the fantastic decorations and lights and the crowds who turned out to watch.

The tractors were decorated with lights, Santas, snowmen, reindeer, penguins, light antlers and even a rubber duck.

The event was organised by Georgina Synnock-Morgan, Rae Morgan and Kington Chamber of Trade, to raise funds for St Michael's Hospice and so far they are close to raising £2,000.

The tractor run started from Kington Cattle Market and visited several villages including Walton, Evenjobb, Presteigne and Titley before heading back to Kington.

The tractors then travelled down through the town where crowds lined the streets to hear then hooting their horns and playing music.

The run end at the Cattle Market where M & S Pizzas and the Red Lion outdoor bar were based.

Georgina said: “The winner of the best decorated tractor was Jon Taylor from Lower Newton Farm Kinnersley in his Massey Ferguson tractor, it was amazing so much effort and time put in plus a snow machine .

“But it was so hard to choose a winner, the amount of effort and time each person had put in was amazing .

“We are so far at £1,923.01.

“A big thank you to M and S pizzas and the Red Lion Pembridge for the bar and McCartneys for the use of the auction yard without that the event wouldn’t gone ahead in Kington

“We both would like to say a massive thank you to each and everyone that took part in the tractor run, we had 54 in total which exceeded our expectations .

“Thank you for all the effort you all put in to decorating you were all amazing each and every vehicle. And thank you to everyone who donated , bought raffle tickets , who bought pizzas and drinks .

“To everybody who came out to see us it was absolutely amazing to see you all, we cannot believe how many people we saw and supported us on our journey through villages and towns

“I can’t thank everyone enough we are absolutely overwhelmed on how well supported this event has been and answer to everyone’s question YES we will be doing this again next year.”
