The West Midlands and Shropshire are preparing for two days of 'strong winds' as the UK has issued a yellow weather warning for the weekend.
Saturday and Sunday will see two days of 'strong winds' of up to 50 - 60mph and in some areas, 70mph.
The weather watchdog Met Office warned of the high winds on Saturday morning, saying that the bad weather may lead to public transport delays and 'some disruption' to road networks.
Portions of the West Midlands and much of Shropshire have been included in the yellow weather warning with the weather group saying 'strong and gusty' winds are expected to develop on Sunday.
In their forecast, the group said: "Strong and gusty northwesterly winds are expected to develop on Sunday.
"Gusts of 50-60mph are expected quite widely, and around some exposed coasts and hills gusts 70 mph are possible, especially in the north and west.
"In addition, squally showers are likely with some hail and thunder possible in places."
The bulk of the bad weather is expected to affect the West Midlands and Shropshire on Sunday, however, the weather warning has urged that both days may see some travel disruptions.
The group added: "This has the potential to cause delays to public transport and some disruption to the road network, which may have a greater than usual impact given the busier pre-Christmas weekend travel.
"Dangerous coastal conditions can be expected too, with large waves an additional hazard."
The West Midlands and Shropshire's weekend weather report warns of 'further rain and showers' on the weekend and Monday, with 'particularly windy' coastal gales on Saturday.
For the weekend, the weather report reads: "Further rain or showers during the weekend and on Monday.
"Often blustery, and particularly windy on Saturday with coastal gales. Coldest on Sunday with notable wind chill."
