A building society boss who stole more than £42,000 to feed his gambling habit may lose his home and his pension.

Robert Wilson, aged 34, was manager at Oswestry’s Church Street branch of Nationwide, having worked his way up after starting as a customer representative in 2015.
But he stole cash from the building society over a 42-month period between September 2019 and April 2023, benefiting to the tune of £42,742.36.
Wilson, of Ffordd Pentre, Mold, Clwyd, pleaded guilty to one count of theft and one count of false accounting, and was sentenced at Shrewsbury Crown Court in September this year to two years in prison, suspended for 24 months.
This week he was back in the dock in Shrewsbury for a Proceeds of Crime Act hearing, for prosecutors to try and recoup some of his ill-gotten gains.
Debra White, representing Wilson, said his partner would be entitled to half on any equity from his property.
There was also a suggestion that money from his pension could be used to pay off the debt.
