While Black Friday and internet shopping have changed the face of the retail world forever, the British love of a Boxing Day bargain while walking off the turkey and trimmings remains undiminished.
Telford Centre will be open for Boxing Day as is tradition - with the centre doors open at 7am followed by a host of shops opening throughout the morning ready for shoppers to grab a bargain.
New Look will be open at 8am, Primark is set to open at 9am, HMV at 9.30, and H&M at 10am, amongst others.
Coffee shops and McDonald's will also be ready to welcome the bargain hunters.
But Next, a traditional Boxing Day favourite will not be open - and instead reopens at 7am on Friday. M&S is also closed on Boxing Day, reopening at 8am on Friday.
Centre manager Glyn Morrow said there was excitement ahead of the usual Boxing Day sales, that the centre had enjoyed a strong 2024, and he was looking forward to a big 2025 - including welcoming some new big name stores.
Foot Locker is set to open at the centre - with the shoe chain expected to open towards the end of February.
Mr Morrow said the centre was also close to agreeing a deal with a national firm to set up shop in the former Zara unit, which is currently empty.
The centre manager said they were looking forward to welcoming shoppers enjoying a family Boxing Day out - and a few bargains.
He said: "Boxing Day is still a really busy day for us and whether it is dedicated hardcore shoppers or people walking off the turkey from the day before it is a very busy day for us."
Mr Morrow said it wasn't all about immediate bargains either, with plenty of people already thinking about next Christmas.
"A lot of people they come out on Boxing Day because they start shopping for next year - I don't do that myself, but there are a lot of people who do and they don't want to miss that chance, particularly for wrapping paper, cards, and putting them away for next year."
Reflecting on 2024 Mr Morrow said they had been delighted to welcome a number of new stores, such as home and body product specialists Rituals, and Scandi-inspired Søstrene Grene.
Shrewsbury's Darwin Centre will also be open on Boxing Day from 10am to 5.30pm.
Both Primark and HMV will be open from 10am.
