The Planning Inspectorate considered that there was a lot in the plan's favour but the fact that so many people would have to use cars to get there was the overwhelming reason for rejecting it.

Mr & Mrs Jones of Adlebury Limited had appealed to the inspectors after Shropshire Council rejected their plans for  the bunker west of Shrawardine Castle, Shrawardine Castle Farm, in Shrawardine, near Shropshire.

There is already a thriving holiday let business at the farm, the inspector heard.

Planning inspector J D Clark, in a decision made at the end of November said the main issue was whether the site is a suitable location for a holiday let having regard to its accessibility.
