The council said that both the Frankwell Main and Frankwell Riverside car parks have been closed due to the rising level of the River Severn.
It comes with flood alerts and warnings in place for the county due to heavy rain earlier this week.
The council said that the exit for the car park remains open for people to remove vehicles.
The council has also encouraged people visiting the town to use alternative transport, as well as offering guidance for those attending the pantomime at Theatre Severn this evening.
A spokesman for the council said: "Frankwell Main and Frankwell Riverside car parks in Shrewsbury are now closed due to rising river levels.
"The exit is available for vehicles parked before the closure. If you’re visiting Shrewsbury town centre today please use Park and Ride, local bus services, or walk/cycle if possible.
"If you’re attending the panto at Theatre Severn tonight, or for other evening parking, please use the multi-storey.
"Frankwell resident permit and season/weekly ticket holders can use Raven Meadows multi-storey. If the barrier does not raise on entry, take a ticket and after parking show proof of purchase for your permit and your ticket number for help exiting."
