Firefighters use ladder platform to extinguish chimney fire near Oswestry

Fire crews used an aerial ladder platform to extinguish a chimney fire at a property in a border village.

The Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 8.29pm reporting the incident in Llanyblodwel near Oswestry.

Three fire crews including the aerial ladder platform were sent from Oswestry and Telford Central fire stations to the scene.

An operations officer was also in attendance. 

The aerial platform ladder was utilised as firefighters used a 9m to 10.5metre ladder and chimney rods to extinguish the fire within the chimney's flue. 

Crews sent their 'stop' message at 12.31am.
