Kington Mayor thanks councillors for developing the town in 2024
Kington Mayor has thanked all councillors for all they have done in their roles to care for and develop the town in 2024
Councillor Philip Sell said he had attended the service of installation and induction of the new vicar at St Mary’s Church in Kington and welcomed the new vicar on behalf of the town and council.
He said he had also attended the switch-on of Kington’s Christmas lights.
“What a happy, fun filled evening it was. Well done to all concerned – especially to Councillor Banks, Emma Hancocks and other members of the Chamber of Trade and to all those councillors and others who helped in any way.
“I also attended the Victorian Christmas Market in Leominster. A really enjoyable day, with wacky processions, bagpipes and pomp and ceremony. The highlight of the morning was the arrival of Queen Victoria in a horse drawn carriage, attended police in Victorian uniform and the town crier.
“I also attended the wonderful procession of tractors along Kington high street. What a fun event.”
Councillor Sell wished everyone a prosperous, happy and healthy new year.
