David Gaunt, 81, and his partner Patricia Morris, 80, were forced to abandon their home on Holyhead Road in Ketley, Telford last November after a high-powered BMW careered off the road and ploughed into the building.
The incident left a huge hole in the side of the property - and to make matters worse the house was then burgled in December.
The couple, who were left homeless and with little more than the clothes they were wearing at the time of the terrifying incident, went to view a home in November.
Mr Gaunt has told the Shropshire Star that he and his partner Patricia are now living in an alternative property, and have spent more than £5,000 to make living "comfortable".
