Paramedics and firefighters rush to blaze in bedroom of Telford home

Paramedics and the fire brigade rushed to a house fire in an upstairs bedroom this morning.

The blaze happened at a home in Smallwood, Sutton Hill, Telford. Fire investigation officers have been sent to the scene.

A Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “At 10.16am on Saturday, January 11, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as ‘house fire’ in Telford.

“Fire in an upstairs bedroom of a property that has been extinguished by fire service personnel.”

Three fire engines were sent to the scene from Telford Central and Wellington. An operations officer was also in attendance.

Crews used breathing apparatus, a covering jet and a hose reel jet to put the fire out.

West Midlands Ambulance Service has been contacted for an update.
