The Friends of Ludlow Community Hospital have branded the health centre ‘not fit for purpose’ and are campaigning for better facilities in South Shropshire.

The League said that South Shropshire needs to have greatly improved healthcare services 'fit for the 21st century' and beyond.

Earlier this year they met with South Shropshire MP Stuart Anderson who has written to the Health Secretary calling for a meeting to discuss healthcare facilities in Ludlow and surrounding areas following the launch of a major consultation on plans for the national service over the next decade.

Now Ludlow Town Council is holding a meeting next month to hear from residents on their issues with the community hospital.

The meeting will take place in Oscars, Ludlow Assembly Rooms, Mill Street, Ludlow on Tuesday, February 4 at 6pm.’

Mayor of Ludlow, Councillor Beverley Waite said: “I am delighted to organise this important meeting.

"Ludlow is a long way from Shropshire’s hospitals, and it is important that residents have access to good health care locally. I would like to invite residents to attend the meeting, and engage with the speakers providing valuable information, and insights”.
