Harvey Williams appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court for sentencing after admitting a string of drug-related offences.

The 20-year-old pleaded guilty to two counts of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, three charges of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply, and one count of possession of criminal property.

The charges relate to offences carried out from August to October last year.

The court was told that Williams, from Queens Avenue, Bangor, had become involved in the sale of drugs after himself becoming a user of nitrous oxide and cannabis.

Williams, who had represented Wales at boxing, was arrested by police at Manchester Airport on October 28 having returned from Amsterdam with his girlfriend.

The court was told police had then searched his girlfriend's property in Minsterley where they found 54 wraps of heroin - with a street value of around £540.

Officers also discovered wraps of crack cocaine worth up to £400, as well as another 15.4g of the drug - worth up to £700.
