January can be a bit of a bore after the fun of Christmas is over - and many of us are all spent out, with little spare cash to splash on dining out or enjoying a night out.
But fear not - lots of restaurants and pub chains have stepped up to offer discounts and promotions to attract guests to beat the January blues.
We've taken a look at the offers available to foodies and drinkers and picked out seven of the best. These are presented in no particular order.

1. Marston's pubs 30 per cent off
The pub chain are offering 30 per cent off main meals across January at pubs in Shrewsbury, including The Featherbed, Beeches and Boars Head, and other pubs across the region like the Bandon Arms in Bridgnorth, Bucks Head in Church Stretton and Barley Mow in Telford.
Customers are able to go onto the Marston's website at any pub in the region and sign up to get a code for 30 per cent off main meals, up to and including eight people on a table.
The code can then be used between Monday and Saturday until February 1.
2. George Oswestry, Oswestry
The George Oswestry is one of many pubs under the Craft Union banner which is bringing down the cost of pints to welcome in customers during January as part of its New Year sale.
