Temporary traffic lights have been in place on the A49 at Bayston Hill south of Shrewsbury since last November.
The lights have been required after a lorry ploughed into the Hong Kong City Chinese takeaway and the Three Fishes pub - causing huge damage.
Although delays are expected due to the lights, drivers have reported issues with the signals being stuck on red, resulting in significant delays.
The route was backed up this morning - Monday, January 20, with drivers reporting issues with the lights not changing.
Delays this morning were compounded by a crash on the A5 between Dobbies and Emstrey, with significant delays as a result.
Now National Highways has confirmed it is checking if there are issues with the lights - and said they will be monitoring how they are performing.
National Highways Route Manager, Joseph Walmsley, said: “We are investigating issues with the temporary traffic lights and will replace any equipment if necessary.
"In the meantime, we are closely monitoring performance of the signals to avoid further disruption.”
