Greeted by smiling faces in both reception and on framed pictures of children that are hung on the wall, you feel the sense that this is a welcoming and loving school that everyone wants to be at.
Those feelings are echoed by Year Six pupil Ruby Mohammadi, who said: "I like how I feel really safe here, it feels like I can speak to any teachers. I can speak to other teachers, I can speak to Mrs Matthews, Miss O'Hara, I can just speak to everyone, I have got lots of friends and it just feels really safe here."
The 10-year-old said she would like to be a scientist one day - learners are encouraged to be ambitious and aim high.
From exploring their classrooms, play areas and woodland, you can see that children are extremely happy within their environment and receive top quality care and education from warm and nurturing staff.
Leaders at the primary school in Monkmoor, Shrewsbury have high expectations of themselves and pupils, and showed immense pride in what has been achieved during the last year.
The school recently received a glowing Ofsted report and was upgraded from its previous grading of 'requires improvement' that is partly down to the work of new headteacher, Karen Matthews who has years of experience of teaching at the school and stepped into the top role during June last year.
She and her staff have worked tirelessly to provide the best education possible, and certainly showed a lot of love for the staff and pupils.
Asked what she loves about the school headteacher, Mrs Matthews responds: "It is hard to say what I don't love about Wilfred Owen Primary School because everything is amazing.
