The Little Theatre in Donnington is hosting the much-anticipated pantomime - packed with fun, laughter, and family-friendly entertainment, from this Saturday (January 25) to the following Saturday (February 1) - with both matinee and evening performances.

Rapunzel, written by Tom Whalley, promises a delightful mix of comedy, dazzling songs, and captivating storytelling.

Audiences will follow Rapunzel’s daring escape from her tower and her quest for freedom, encountering Prince Ryder, the residents of the village of Centre-Parting, the comedy duo Paz and Cal, their mother Dame Fanny Follicle - the local hairdresser - and the wicked Mother Gothel along the way.

Director Lisa Adams said there was huge excitement ahead of the opening show.

She said: “When I first read Tom Whalley’s Rapunzel script a year ago, I could see it so clearly in my mind on the Little Theatre stage.

"The cast and crew have really stepped up to the plate to bring this ‘hair’larious panto to life — and then some.

"I’m so proud of everyone involved in this show, especially those new to panto. It can seem so easy but is as challenging as any Gilbert & Sullivan operetta.

"I’ve loved watching everyone bringing their characters to life, and I’m sure you will as well.”

The Little Theatre Donnington has been a favourite with the local community in Donnington, as well as the wider Telford and Shropshire community, for more than 70 years.

As a registered charity it puts on pantomimes, plays, musicals, and concerts, with all proceeds going directly back into the theatre to fund much-needed roof and car park maintenance.

Rapunzel runs from January 25 to February 1, with evening performances at 7.30pm and matinees at 2.30pm on Saturday (January 25), Sunday (January 26) and Saturday (February 1).

Tickets cost £8 each or £30 for a family ticket - two adults and two children, and can be booked from the website or by calling 01952 407959.
