Planning is already starting for 2025 Builth Christmas event
The organisers of the hugely successful Christmas grotto and first illuminated tractor run in Builth Wells, are already thinking about the 2025 event.
Builth Wells Mayor Councillor Gwyn Davies said the event was a great success but there are always things that can be improved and members should bring any ideas they have to the council.
He said he would like to announce the dates for the 2025 event early and he said he thought a Saturday event worked very well, probably because a lot of people were not working and were able to attend.
He said he would also like the shops and businesses in town to open late on the night of the Christmas grotto and tractor run, given the number of people in the town.
Councillor Davies thanked everyone who helped and all those who turned out to support it.
Builth Wells Town Council which organised the event with help from Builth Wells Young Farmers Club and Brecknock YFC, said it had ‘totally surpassed their expectations’.
There was snow, santa and the illuminated tractor run which created a huge festive spectacle.
Councillor Davies said he was still counting the takings but it would be about £4,500 and so the two charities Cancer Research and Hear to Help would receive over £2,000 each.
The town council received a thank you letter from Hear to Help for their fundraising efforts at January’s town council meeting.
