Birmingham Airport has issued travel advice for those travelling over the weekend as Storm Eowyn threatens to disrupt travel across the West Midland and the wider UK.
The airport has said that while they anticipate that they will 'operate as normal' during the peak of the storm, they recommend passengers check ahead with their airlines before arriving for their flights.
A Birmingham Airport spokesperson said: "Currently, as there is a yellow Met Office wind warning for us, we anticipate that Birmingham Airport will operate as normal.
"As always, passengers should check with their airlines."
Met Office
The advice comes as the Met Office has issued a 'risk to life' alert as high winds up to 90mph batter the West Midlands.
It says that a major change in the UK's weather will start on Thursday, saying that the worst of the wind will happen on Friday, when the storm officially arrives, bringing rain and even snow to parts of Northern Ireland, Scotland and higher ground in England.
However, on Friday, the whole country has been covered by at least one yellow warning, with warnings in place for snow, wind and rain.
West Midlands and Shropshire
A yellow warning for wind has already been issued for the West Midlands for tonight until midnight on Friday, with winds currently expected to reach up to 53mph at 5am Friday in Wolverhampton.
A yellow weather warning for rain has also been issued for parts of Shropshire and parts of Mid Wales from midnight tonight until midnight on Friday, with gusts of up to 52mph expected between 11am and noon on Friday in Shrewsbury.
