An alert at 3.33pm this afternoon said residents in Bridgnorth have experienced no supply, poorer pressure or discoloured water throughout the afternoon.

Severn Trent Water began investigations into the issue, and an update by the water company at 6.20pm notified residents that the cause was a burst water pipe.

No time has been given as to when the company expects supplies to be returned to normal.

The alert said: "We’d like to apologise to those experiencing no supply, poor pressure or discoloured water in the WV15 of Bridgnorth this afternoon.

"This is due to a burst water pipe. Our engineers are on the way who will assess the burst and start the repair as soon as possible. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may be causing.

"We’ll make sure this page is updated as we receive more information."
