Drop-in dates revealed for sessions to explain Shrewsbury and Telford hospital transformation plans

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH), which runs both Princess Royal Hospital (PRH) in Telford and Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH), has announced six months of dates for community drop-in sessions, as part of the Hospitals Transformation Programme (HTP).

The multi-million pound programme will see significant changes to what services are provided at the hospitals.

The plans will see RSH become the county's sole emergency hospital - with Shropshire's only A&E - while PRH will become the centre for planned care and operations.

Both hospitals will have urgent care centres.

SaTH has said the changes "will bring high quality, sustainable care and fewer delays for everyone".

Construction work is well underway on a new four-storey expansion at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH) as part of the programme, which is expected to open in 2028.

The trust said it is "committed to informing and involving its patients and communities as plans progress".

As part of that process, representatives will be visiting the following locations across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, and Mid Wales in the coming months - with the public invited to attend and find out more about the plans.

They will be at Newport Market from 10am to 2pm on Friday, February 14; at Ironbridge Co-op from noon to 4pm on Monday, March 17; at Church Stretton Co-op from 10am to 1pm on Friday, May 2; at Wellington Market from 10am to 2pm on Friday, May 9; at Welshpool Market from 10am to 2pm on Monday, June 16; and at Bridgnorth Market, from 10am to 2pm on Friday, July 11.
