Builth Male Voice Choir kick off their 2025 season with their annual St David’s Day concert.

It’s their biggest concert of the year and will be held in the Builth Wells in Builth Wells Sports Hall on Saturday, March 1 at 7.30pm (doors open 7pm).

The choir will be singing a wide range of traditional and modern songs in both Welsh and English. Some songs have been specially arranged for the choir by the acclaimed arranger, conductor, organist and pianist Jeffrey Howard who is Cardiff based.

This year’s solo artist will be the fabulous, versatile singer-songwriter Sara Davies.

Sara won the S4C Song For Wales competition in 2024. Sara has just released her new single and first taste of her forthcoming album, ‘Dal yn Dynn’, this St Dwynwen’s Day. Dal yn Dynn (Hold Me Tight)is the first track to be released from her upcoming spring album.

At the 2015 Urdd Eisteddfod, Sara won the women’s solo as well as coming second in the musical solo, and was very fortunate to win the Olwen Phillips scholarship.

In 2017 Sara was second in the mezzo-soprano solo competition at the National Eisteddfod and in 2019 (Llanrwst) and 2022 (Tregaron) she won the Soprano competition and went on to compete in the Blue Riband competition.

She enjoys any opportunity to perform in concerts and has sung with Bryn Terfel as part of a chorus.

In 2018 Sara graduated from Cardiff University with a first-class degree in music. In 2019 she graduated in a PGCE course in education. Since then Sara has been pursuing a job as a Music teacher at Henry Richard school in Tregaron as well as her music career.

The Concert will be supporting Builth Wells Community Support, the charity helping people live healthy, independent lives within their community.

Tickets are available on-line at www.WeGotTickets.com, by phone 01597 851427 and from Choir members. A limited number of tickets will be available on the door.
