Police identify two people of interest after wheelie bins dropped on vehicles from bridge in Telford

Two people police wanted to speak to after wheelie bins were dropped from a bridge onto a dual carriageway have been identified.

West Mercia Police released a public appeal after bins were dropped onto the A442 in Telford twice this week.

The first incident took place in the early hours of Monday (January 27).

A vehicle was struck, extensively damaging the windscreen, with two people requiring hospital treatment.

The second happened at around 1am yesterday (Friday, January 31) and involved a heavy goods vehicle. The driver fortunately escaped unhurt.

A West Mercia Police spokesman said: “The two people who officers wanted to speak with to help with enquiries into a wheelie bin being dropped from a bridge in Telford have been identified.

“Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal.”
