Plans to build nine houses on the site of the former Haven Boarding Kennels & Cattery in Lightmoor were submitted in July 2023.

The site had been used for the boarding of cats and dogs since 1985 but had been left vacant prior to the proposals.

One five-bedroom detached home was planned for the site, along with eight three-bedroom homes made up of a mix of detached and semi-detached properties.

The application attracted a number of objections from neighbours and from Dawley Hamlets Parish Council who raised concerns over highway safety.

But the plans were ultimately given the green light by Telford & Wrekin Council the following April after planning officers found "no technical issues" with the proposals.

Now, the undeveloped site is going up for auction with a guide price of £660,000.

The listing, from agents Nick Tart, reads: "A development opportunity to purchase a site of approximately 0.9 acres with planning for five detached houses and four semi-detached houses."

It is not yet clear when the auction will take place, but the listing suggests it will be held by online auctioneers iamsold.co.uk.

The full listing is available to view on Nick Tart's website or on Rightmove.
