The plea comes after parking concerns were raised over vehicles causing issues on Beech Drive in Ellesmere and on Eyton Lane in Baschurch.

West Mercia Police PCSO for Ellesmere Kerry Hogg said parking on Beech Drive has caused "significant" issues for buses and emergency services, while the force has also received reports of vehicles parking on zig zags and yellow lines, and on pavements outside Baschurch Primary School.

A post for Ellesmere residents said: "We work hard to tackle parking concerns within the area, but it has recently been brought to our attention that parking on Beech Drive is causing significant issues for the local bus services, and has also caused emergency vehicles difficulty responding to calls for service."

Meanwhile, a notice for Baschurch residents added: "We have received reports of vehicles parking on the zig zags and yellow lines and pavements outside the schools."

The post added that on "more than one occasion" a pedestrian with visual disabilities was seen to move into the road in order to get past offending vehicles.

The post's continued: "Inconsiderate or illegal parking can put pedestrians and other road users in danger, and creating an obstruction for emergency vehicles can cause significant delays and their response.

"While some enforcement activity is carried out jointly with partners, and many local authorities employ parking enforcement officers to assist with these issues. But often problems can be resolved through raising awareness of the impact or consequences or other practical measures.

"We are asking for drivers to be more considerate when parking a vehicle, ensure there is adequate space for larger vehicles to pass and that they are adhering to the highway code."
