Severn Trent Water working to fix leak in Telford and burst pipe in Shrewsbury

Engineers are working to restore water supplies in Telford and Shrewsbury after a leak and burst pipe incident.

Severn Trent Water has identified a leak that is affecting water supplies in postcode areas TF7 and TF8 in Telford, while a burst water pipe is causing problems for residents in SY3.

The water company said engineers would be attending the incident in Shrewsbury 'later' during last night, and that customers' supplies may be 'intermittent'.

An update on the problem said: "Engineers have located the burst water pipe and made sure our customers still have a water supply although it may be intermittent.

"We will provide you with any updates as we receive them. Apologies for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience."

Meanwhile, customers in Telford may have 'lower' water supplies than normal. 

An update at 7.49am said: "Engineers have located the leak and made sure our customers still have a water supply although this may be lower than usual. 

"Our teams shall be attending today to complete repairs. We will provide you with any updates as we receive them. Apologies for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience."
