Crash between van and bus closes country road near Shropshire town

Emergency services rushed to the scene of a crash on a Shropshire country lane on Tuesday morning.

A country lane in Acton Reynald near Wem was closed following the crash as the vehicles awaited recovery.

The incident, which saw a van and a bus collide on the road between the A49 and the B5063 near to Moreton Corbett, happened just after 8am on Tuesday.

Firefighters, paramedics and police officers were all at the scene of the collision.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a collision involving a bus and a van on Acton Lea, Acton Reynald, Shrewsbury at 8.09am this morning (Tuesday February 4). 

"One ambulance attended the scene and all occupants were assessed. Thankfully no one required hospital treatment and were discharged on scene."

A spokesperson for Shropshire Fire and Rescue said the van and the bus had been made "electrically safe" by the crews, who had come from Shrewsbury and Wem stations.
